About Azaria
Azaria Baggett
MFA, LCCE (trainee)
Azaria Baggett, MFA, LCCE (trainee), is a birth worker, dance artist, educator, author, and mother of two.
Currently, Azaria is a Lamaze Trainee, teaching evidence-based birth classes. She awaits certification in 2026. She is also in the process of completing her Postpartum Doula Certification from Childbirth International and her Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) designation from the Healthy Children's Project.
Azaria holds an M.F.A. in dance from Texas Woman's University and a B.A. in Spanish with minors in dance and dance therapy. As a former tenured Associate Professor of dance, Azaria has deep knowledge about working with the body, teaching, movement as expression, and movement in functional processes.
She gave birth to both of her children safely at home under midwifery care. In the process of receiving care under a birth center and later another midwifery practice, she realized that the education she was receiving was far beyond that of her peers and contemporaries.
That experience is what pushed her into birth work. She now teaches and supports parents across the full range of settings: hospital births, birth centers, and home births.
